Larry Hershel Donoho, 80, of Centralia, passed away on February 15, 2018, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia surrounded by friends and family. The son of William Ellis Donoho and Joyce Jewel (Green) Donoho, Larry was born November 29, 1937, in Iuka. He married Laura Ann Tate on June 14, 1968, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 1989. He married Barbara Bennett (Klosterman) on July 16, 1990.

Larry is survived by his wife Barbara Donoho; son Lane Donoho and wife Maureen of Fishers, IN; son Tom Sloat of Morton, IL; son Mike Sloat and wife Sue of Centralia; daughter Jennifer (Klosterman) Korzenewski and husband Steve of Sandoval; brother Jan Donoho and wife Phyllis of Crossville, TN; granddaughter Grace Donoho; grandson Orion Donoho; granddaughter Emily Waller and husband Mitch; grandson Sean Maxey and fiance Caroline Shanholtz; grandson Ben Sloat; granddaughter Cindi Sloat; grandson Logan Korzenewski; great-granddaughter Kennedy Waller; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife Ann, Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne Donoho, and sister Joyce Todd. Raised in rural Iuka, Larry graduated from Salem High School in 1956. He worked in the power plant at Murray Center as an Ashman, fireman, and engineer, retiring in 1991. In addition to working at Murray Center, Larry farmed and performed auto bodywork. In retirement, he delivered papers for the Centralia Sentinel for many years.

Larry was an avid crappie fisherman. He loved fishing Rend Lake and hosting fish fries for his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was a jack of all trades. Larry loved to hear and tell stories. He loved being home, working in his garage, and trading at flea markets and garage sales. In 2012, he visited Ireland with his son Lane. It was a trip Larry spoke of with pride as he learned about his family history, but more importantly spending time with Lane.
