Larry (Fritz) Charles Meyer, 75, lifetime resident of Gilmore City, passed away peacefully at The Villa Care Center of Fort Dodge on Tuesday, September 1st  Fritz was born on October 5, 1944 to Lawrence Christian and Betty (Hasenbank) Meyer of Gilmore City and was raised on the family farm south of town. He attended Gilmore City High School and worked in plumbing and repair services. In 1965 he was drafted into the military. He spent 2 years in Germany proudly serving the US Army. Upon returning home from the Army, Fritz was then employed at Pocahontas County, as a Secondary Road Maintenance Operator, where he served until his retirement  in 2006. Fritz was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. He loved all things rural and savored spending time hunting, fishing, woodworking, and collecting and rebuilding antique John Deere tractors. He enjoyed riding his antique tractors in parades and tractor pulls. Fritz was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Priscilla, father Lawrence, mother Betty, brother in law Ron Lowrey, and grandson Kevin Richard Thompson. Survivors include his 6 children: Zienna (Henry) Rodriquez of Stockton, California, Corey Meyer of Humboldt, Pam (Bill) Hendershot of West Des Moines, Duane (Rose) Thompson of Sheboygan Wisconsin, Mark (Sally) Thompson of Ankeny, Kevin (Erin) Thompson of Fort Dodge, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and sister Sherry Lowrey of Gilmore City.
