On May 8th, 2022, Larry died in Littleton, Colorado after a short battle with Glioblastoma. He was two days shy of his 76th birthday.

Larry is survived by his wife Susan; their children, Monica (Jason) Vallana, Heather (Chuck) Vogel, and Nicholas (Timm) Beattie; siblings Linda Marshall and Lynn Bogard; and grandchildren Joshua, Ashley, Avery, and Tori.  He was preceded in death by parents Harry and Jane Beattie, and brother Skip.

Larry was born on May 10, 1946 in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1964 and was in the Naval Reserves his Junior and Senior Year.  He went on to serve in the Navy from 1964 to 1966.

Larry went to Emily Griffith Technical College to learn plumbing and started his own plumbing company in 1984. His son in law, Jason, learned the plumbing trade from Larry and went on to take over the business after Larry’s retirement in 2011.   

Larry married Susan on November 5th, 1977 in Aurora, Colorado. They blended their families with daughters Monica and Heather and welcomed son Nicholas in 1979. Larry and Susan were married for 44 years.

Larry loved the mountains and was an avid skier.  He spent most of his skiing time at Arapahoe Basin, and many years he skied over 100 times per year. Larry also loved going on road trips with Susan throughout Colorado. They spent many trips going to Steamboat Springs, Grand Lake, and Rocky Mountain National Park.  They would always try and make it over Trail Ridge Road the weekend it first opened in the Spring. Larry loved driving his little hot rod car, a 2000 BMW Z3. He also loved reading and averaged two to three books per week.
