Larry Dean Gregory, age 69, of Harris Lane, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at his home surrounded by family and holding the hands of his daughters.

Born March 30, 1947, at Sharkey in Rowan County, he was a son of the late James Matthew and Mary Tennie Caudill Gregory. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Bonita Jo Fannin Gregory, who passed away February 17, 2014; one son, Sam Gregory on October 5, 2002; four brothers, Lloyd, Dorsie, Sam, and Charles Gregory; and six sisters, Olive Harris, Lena Eldridge, Elsie Gregory, Delphia Cox, Margie Branham, and Beatrice ‘Bea’ Cox.

He is survived by two daughters, Angela Gregory and Fina Fatty of Lexington and Amber Gregory Blankenbeckler and Kevin of Olive Hill; one son, Chris Castetter of Columbus, Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Logan DeRossett, Konner Fatty, Hunter, Ethan, and Abigail Castetter, Bradley Wagoner, and Andrew Blankenbeckler.

Other survivors include two brothers, Lonnie Gregory (Hester) of Morehead and Willie Gregory of Hillsboro; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors.

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran and former HVAC technician.
