LaRie (Shorty) Hollingsworth, 80, passed away peacefully at her home with our dear family friend, Cara Robinson by her side on October 21, 2016.
After High School, she worked at Mountain Bell as a telephone operator for two years. It was there she met Terrell Hollingsworth. They were married on Feb. 22,1956 and moved to Caldwell shortly after.
Mom enjoyed family camping trips at Lost Lake, Sage Hen and Horse Thief Reservoirs, where she always caught more fish than Dad. The thing she loved most was attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Whether football, baseball, swimming, or diving and rodeo, she could be seen in the stands cheering on her family- she rarely missed a single event. After Terrell passed, she enjoyed traveling to Vegas and attending the Nascar races. She took numerous cruises and trips with her brother and sisters. She always had fond memories of Porter Reunions at Island Park. She was an avid reader and after retirement read over a thousand books.
She is survived by her sons Kent (Jolyn), Brett (companion Patty); grandchildren Tyson (Jodee), Trent (Wendy), Tanner (Makenzie), Nicole Wright (Glenn), Brittia, Kubeczka (Jason), Samantha, Alexandra (Chris), and seven great-grandchildren; brother Delwyn(Audrey)Porter, sisters Nelda Morgan (Sheral) and Doris Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband Terrell, loving son Craig, parents Clarence and Ester Porter; sisters Zola Turpin, Arlene Ogden, and Velma Merrill.
