Lanelle, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Slanovich) Ryan was a Cañon City native. She graduated from St. Scholastica Academy in 1985 and received her Associate’s degree in business from Pueblo Community College. She and her husband, Thom Busch, formerly owned and operated The Shop, a motorcycle equipment and repair shop on Ninth Street. She loved to drive and enjoyed driving taxi for a number of years. She was a free-spirited and talented person who loved music and played both the flute and the piano. She liked to cook and was an accomplished baker. She enjoyed reading, wrote short stories, and liked to work in the garden. She had a special love of animals and the outdoors and was frequently accompanied on her walks by her dogs. A generous person, she often came to the aid of friends in need. Lanelle was preceded in death by her husband, Thom, and her father, Donald Ryan. She is survived by her son, Colin Busch, her mother, Dorothy Ryan, her brothers Patrick and Michael (Barbara) Ryan and by her sister Leanne (Brian) Jewett, and several nieces and nephews and many cousins. She is also fondly remembered by her stepsons Bradley and Brian Busch and their families.
