Lance Harp
September 15, 1971 – February 28, 2021
Lance Kirby Harp was born to Charlotte & Richard Harp on September 15, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee. Lance departed this earth at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas and ushered into Heaven on February 28, 2021.
To know Lance was to love him. He was the most kind, loving and loyal son, brother, uncle, friend and employee. Lance was sincere with his actions and feelings and would do whatever he could to help anyone who needed it, oftentimes to his own detriment. Lance graduated from Sheridan High School and shortly after, found his career with Centria in Sheridan, Arkansas. He was employed there, faithfully, for 27 years. He took pride in his job and completed each task to the best of his ability without complaint! Lance received many perfect attendance awards because he truly hated to miss work. It was said that there wasn’t anyone who worked with Lance, who wasn’t touched by his kindness in some way.
Lance was very passionate about the Arkansas Razorbacks! He was great at giving the Coach advice and letting us know what needed to be done to improve the team. If you ever wanted to see Lance fired up, just mention how the Hogs were playing, either good or bad, and he would have a lot to say. Well, a lot to say for Lance. Those who knew Lance, knew he was a man of few words, but the words he did speak weren’t wasted. Lance had a great sense of humor. One time in particular, Lance, his dad, brother and sister-in-law were waiting for his sister, Gina, to get out of surgery. Crisann was talking to Lance, telling him that he was too sweet to be single and that she was going to find him a girlfriend. She asked him what he was looking for, and what his type was and without missing a beat, Lance shocked everyone by looking at Crisann and asking, “Do you have a twin sister?” You can imagine the look on their faces! That boldness coming out of normally shy Lance, made jaws drop and gave them all the comedic relief they needed.
Lance was an extreme private and reserved man, but if Lance loved you or cared about you, you knew he did. It is said that perhaps the only legacy worth having is to have been known as a kind and compassionate person. Lance had an abundance of both. His thoughtful, loving heart, sympathetic ear & endearing eyes will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lance is survived by his father, Richard Harp; brother, Glenn Harp (Crisann); sister, Gina George; nephews, Hunter Harp and Garrett George (Jessica); bonus nephews, Christian (Tiffany), Connor (Ali) and Camden (Glory); niece, Sydney George; bonus niece, Calynn Tipton; great niece, Serenity Rose Harp; bonus great nieces, Aurora & Viviann; bonus great nephew, Dawson; other relatives and friends
