CAIRNS, Mrs. Lamoine J. passed away Thursday evening, November 24, 2011, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born February 14, 1928, in Coldwater, the daughter of William and Myrtle Buys Walter.
In 1945, Lamoine graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. On August 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to John Cairns. Lamoine was employed by Vicksburg Public Schools for 22 years as a teacher.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, John Cairns; three children, Robert Patricia Cairns of Mattawan, Thomas Cairns of Kalamazoo, and Joan Aernie of Portage; four grandchildren, Sarah and Robert Cairns and Bradley and Anthony Aernie; sister, Carol Claus Gruetzner of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were one son, Steven Cairns; her parents; one sister, Marilyn Nedweski and one brother, Arthur Black.
