.m…m…. Born March 22, 1922, in Fairview Illinois, “Ferne” made Picayune her home for many years. She worked for numerous physicians in the Picayune and Slidell area prior to retiring in 1997. Ferne was an avid reader and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who will be truly missed.. Survivors include her children Joyce Fetters of Spring, TX, Karen Allette Karavitis and husband George of Naples, FL, Paula Scianna and husband Steve of Magnolia, TX, Patti Avolio and husband John of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren Christy Baxter, Dane Baxter, Julie Fricke and husband Jared, Tim Stockstill, Chad Polk and wife Paige, Holly Polk Kennedy and husband Brad, Cliff Bales, Steve Scianna Jr..
