L. Eugene “Gene†Fouquette, 75, of 618 Watt St., Martinsville, VA, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at his home. Born September 14, 1935 in St. Cloud, MN, he was a son of the late Clayton Fouquette and Lucille Bresnahau Fouquette and was preceded in death by a sister. Gene was the husband of Callie Sue Hazlewood Fouquette who survives. He was a member of Calvary Christian Church and had served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the computer industry in sales and worked for Fairystone Park in maintenance. He was a member of the Elk Lodge, past member of the Virginia Defense Corps and Marine Corps League. Gene was also an avid gardener and horticulturalist. In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by three daughters, Teresa, Monica and Angie all of Minnesota; two sons, Alex Fouquette and Mike Fouquette both of California; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Michael Blevins and wife Margaret Blevins of Winston-Salem, NC and by two grandchildren, Trent Blevins and Kiely Blevins.
