Krystle Lauren Dikes, 20, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Martin’s Super Market at Cobblestone.

Krystle was born on April 7, 1993, in Elkhart, to Shaun Allen and Juanita (Skoblikoff) Dikes.

Surviving are her father, Shaun A. (Charlotte) Dikes of Shipshewana, mother Juanita (David) Whitacre of Bristol and sister Heather Marie Dikes of Bristol. Also surviving are stepbrothers Matthew (Leann) Whitacre, Mark (Kim) Whitacre and Jason Bayless; stepsisters Jaime (Jahred) Gamez, Jessica Bayless (Jon) Becker, Megan (Nathan) Erwin, Melissa Whitacre and Macy Whitacre; maternal grandparents Maria and Ray Kelley of Riverside, Calif., Philip Burkey of Bristol, and Bill and Jeanette Whitacre; great-grandmother Juanita Pena of Chicago; paternal grandparents Marla and Reg McCreery of Middlebury; and great-grandmothers Gerry Watkins and Jane and Dick Beatty, both of Elkhart.

Krystle was preceded in death by her grandfather, David Allen Dikes; and great-grandfathers Gordon Watkins and Barney Dikes.

Several nieces and nephews also survive, including Avery Gamez and Evelyn Gamez.

Krystle was working as a stocker at Martin’s Super Market at Cobblestone. She also was working part-time with an area family who had children with special needs. She attended Elkhart Central High School and went on to attain her GED, graduating with honors. Krystle attended the Elkhart Area Career Center and was very involved with the TAPP program and Child Development Program.

She hoped to one day open her own daycare because of her immense love for children. Krystle had a passion for art, photography and music. Her friends will remember Krystle for her contagious laugh and bubbly personality. She has flown away on her angel wings.
