Louis F. Korte, 66, of Damiansville, died Saturday, July 1, 2006. He was born August 27, 1939 in Albers, son of William and Clara (Beckmann) Korte. He married Arlene Heimann on June 3, 1965 in Damiansville and she survives in Damiansville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Keith Korte and wife Erin of Damiansville, and a daughter, Jan Hitch and husband Jeff of Damiansville; three grandchildren, Ashley Hitch, Katy Hitch and Julia Korte; three sisters, Adele Jansen and husband Ray of Albers, Loretta Trame and husband Edwin of Breese, and Dorothy Timmermann and husband Wilbert of Albers; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Lou Korte of St. Rose, Valeria Korte of Aviston, Sister Margaret Heimann of St. Louis, MO, Alvina Dierkes of Germantown, Paul & Mary Heimann of Damiansville, Maurice & Jonella Spihlmann of Germantown and Marvin & Jane Molitor of Germantown; he is also survived by nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Allison Korte, two brothers, Wilbert F. “Bert” Korte and Alfred Korte; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Aloys & Estella Heimann; and a brother-in-law, Herb Dierkes. Mr. Korte was a Communications Technician for A T & T. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1957 to 1961. He was a member of St. Damian Parish & Holy Name Society, Damiansville Chamber of Commerce, A T & T Telephone Pioneers of America, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Communications Workers of America in St. Louis, MO, and a former member of the Damiansville Village Board. He enjoyed gardening, farming, painting, playing cards and putting puzzles together.
