Herman Kollmann, 93, of Albers, IL died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. He was born July 27, 1918 in Damiansville, IL son of Clemens and Josephine (Jansen) Kollmann. He married Hulda C. Fauss on November 25, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Belleville, IL and she preceded him in death on April 4, 2007. He is survived by a sister, Theresa A. Kollmann of Red Bud, IL; three sisters-in-law, Clara Heller of Renault, IL, Hilda Baker of Redbud, IL and Alice Bergmann of Perryville, MO; he is also survived by nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Sister Mary Lucida Kollmann, Sister Mary Clement Kollmann, Sister Mary Sebastian Kollmann, William “Jack” Kollmann, Hermina Kollmann, Joseph C. “Joe” Kollmann, and Catherine Kollmann in infancy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William Kruse, Mildred Kollmann, Annie Kollmann, Bernadine Kollmann, Lucille F. Kollmann, Lena & Oliver Keim, Elmer Baker, Freida & Walter Knepper, Emma & Emil Melching, William Fauss, Theodore Fauss, Lee Fauss, and Raymond Fauss. Mr. Kollmann was a carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII in Central Europe, Rhineland, and Northern France. He was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers, IL, a charter member and past commander of the American Legion Post 1026 of Albers, IL, and the Carlyle, IL VFW Post 3523.
