Kirk was an adventurous fellow with a sassy side. Although he lived in the New Smyrna Beach area for many years, he yearned for his childhood home in Michigan. His Michigan roots never left him. He often talked of his school pals in Portage, Michigan. He loved to travel whenever the opportunity arose.
He was fond of fine watches and enjoyed flashy running shoes. He was an audiophile and was excited to form the Boston Acoustics Home Audio Enthusiasts group on Facebook.
He loved all things in nature. He literally wouldn’t harm a fly. If an unwanted insect invaded his territory he would gently coax it outside to return it to its natural home.
He loved animals, especially the homeless neighborhood cats. They gravitated toward him and looked forward to the attention he gave them. He made sure they always had food even when he couldn’t afford it. He shared his love of animals with his mom.
He loved the fresh air of the great outdoors. He was a skilled motorcyclist and loved the open road. He put a lot of miles on his sport bike. He loved to ride his bicycle around the neighborhood and especially out on the trails. He loved to take pictures. He saw beauty in nature and tried to capture it and share on Instagram.
He loved cars. He got that from his dad. His dad always had a sporty model that Kirk loved to drive when he was old enough. He liked classics and some more contemporary models.
He was super smart and a great writer. He was a word artist with a great vocabulary. He could have made a career of it. He was creative and witty. He loved high tech equipment and could answer any question about computers or cell phones with the patience of Job. He loved vintage Fisher console stereos from the 60’s. He appreciated technology and fine workmanship.
He was addicted to candy and ice cream, especially ice cream. It was a mandatory part of his daily diet. His creativity and wit were definitely a product of a lot of sugar energy. His shopping list consisted of: ice cream, candy, cat food.
Although he had many challenges which sometimes made daily life difficult, he also had many passions. He was very kind to those in need and gave selflessly even when he didn’t have enough for himself. He was a loyal and caring friend to the bitter end.
