Kirk Anthony Alber, of Cedarville, IL, passed into the arms of Jesus, on February 9, 2022, at UW Madison Hospital, Madison, WI.
Kirk was born on November 20, 1963, in Alhambra, CA, to parents Herbert and Earlene (Dockstader) Alber. Kirk graduated from Freeport High School in 1981. Kirk spent several years working for his dad at Stephenson Service Station, starting in grade school. He truly enjoyed greeting the people who were walking by going to work at Microswitch. He was even recognized by the Freeport Journal Standard in regards to his incredible friendliness and sense of humor. Kirk was employed by Alber Towing and Repair for many years. He was a masterful mechanic who took great pride in his ability to fix things.
Kirk went on to marry the love of his life, Amy Marie Jackowski, in 1995, and they were blessed with two amazing children, Jennika and Erik. His family was everything to him. He taught his children many things including life-long values. He was a father figure to many. Kirk was extremely selfless and was more concerned with the needs of others than his own. He greatly valued time spent with friends. Kirk was a man of strong faith, loved God, and regularly attended New Life Bible Church in Pecatonica, IL for over 20 years. Despite his diminishing eyesight, Kirk always maintained a positive outlook on life and enriched the lives of all around him.
Kirk was preceded in death by a baby sister, Deborah Lynn Alber; grandparents, George Dockstader, Mary Dockstader, Willy Alber, and Emma Alber; uncles, John Dockstader, Martin Dockstader, Walter Alber, and Ted Alber; aunts, Mary (Alber) Scudder, Rosie (Alber) Pontnack, and Edith (Alber) Dadez; father-in-law John W. Jackowski, and brother-in-law, John J. Jackowski.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Amy Alber, daughter, Jennika Alber, son, Erik Alber, all of Cedarville, IL; parents, Herb and Earlene Alber, Tempe, AZ; sister, Cheryl (Preston) Thompson, Gilbert, AZ; nephews Preston, Sloane, and Trevin Thompson, and great niece, Aislinn Thompson, all of AZ; half-sister, Angela Alber of CA; uncles, Earl (Cheryl) Dockstader, NV, Willy Alber, IL, and Joseph Alber, CA; aunts, Irmgarde (Alber) Drier, WI, Betty (Alber) Keppen, IL, and Joann (Alber) Motter, IL; and mother-in-law, Judy (Duane) McLinn of Freeport, IL.
