Kinchen L. Harris, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, peacefully at his home.
Kinchen was born on November 2, 1925, in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late John Edgar Harris, Sr., and Emma Carpenter Harris. Kinchen served in the United States Airforce. He owned and operated East Coast Vending Company in Fort Pierce for many years and was active in the Rotary Club.
He married his wife of 59 years, Joan, in Fort Pierce where they resided until they retired to Hendersonville, North Carolina. They spent many years exploring the smoky mountains and spending time sitting on the porch with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, both of his parents, his daughter, Laura Harris Stein; a son, Richard Childers Harris; as well as a brother John Edgar Harris, Jr., and sister Louise Runyon.
Kinchen is survived by his children, Nancy Harris of Fort Pierce, John K. Harris of Christiansburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Lesley Harris, Jennifer Harris, Janice Stein, Lindsay Corrales, Becky Smithling, Richard Frier, Fiona Harris, and Ian Harris; three great-granddaughters, and many loving family members and friends.
