Kevin John Gregg, 54, of Higganum, died peacefully in his sleep early Wednesday morning, March 24th after several years of declining health. Born on May 23, 1955 in Middletown, Kevin was the son of Ruth (Anderson) (Gregg) Brechlin, of Middletown and the late Walter Gregg. He grew up in Durham, where he attended Coginchaug Regional High School. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing soccer, track and field and was always a boisterous fan at all events. Kevin worked as a carpenter prior to becoming a small business owner of the two “Clean Machine” laundromats in Middletown and of “Euro Cleaners” dry cleaner in Essex. As a talented chef, Kevin attended culinary school which allowed him to share his delicious talents with many. Aside from his passion for cooking, he was a devoted and obsessed sports fan. Kevin was a season ticket holder of Uconn Men’s Basketball for 25 years, highlighted when he attended both of their National Championships. He was also a lifelong fanatic of the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots. A friend to everyone he met, and known as “Professor” to some, Kevin could always brighten a room with his keen sense of humor and sociable personality. Kevin is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 31 wonderful years, Barbara (Sadlowski) Gregg. He was also a proud father to his two beloved sons, Jameson of Newport News, VA and Dustin of Boston, MA. Kevin had two older brothers, Mark of TN and Gary of VA, as well as a younger sister, Kimberly (Gregg) Benvin, of PA. In addition to Father and Mother In-Law, Edward and Connie (Milardo) Sadlowski, he also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
