Kenyon David Gardner, 82, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Hartford Hospital after a sudden illness. 

Born in Brockton, MA on April 23, 1934, he was a son of the late William and Rita (Rush) Gardner.  He married his beloved Fernande Elaine Henri on October 1, 1955 in Biddeford, ME. In 1961 they moved to New Britain where they started raising their family.  In 1976, the family moved to Colchester for a number of years. Finally, in 1993, Ken and Fern built their retirement home in Lebanon. Lebanon was truly home to them.   They shared 60 years of marriage before she predeceased him on October 21, 2015.

Ken was a proud veteran and patriot, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and beyond.

Ken loved his home town of Lebanon and was an active participant throughout his community.  He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

He will be sadly missed by many but always remembered as a kind, generous, soft spoken man, dedicated to his family, God and country.

He leaves to morn his passing three children, David Kenyon Gardner of Lebanon, Daniel Simeon Gardner of Colchester, Rita Marie Straker of Colchester; a brother, William Rush of Cranston, RI; seven grandchildren, Phillip and Sarah Straker, David, Nathan, Jalynn, Brian and Kevin Gardner; a great grandchild, Kaylee Gardner and numerous extended family and friends.
