Our incredibly kind, loving, and fun dad, Kent Brower, 78, passed away on October 23, 2022 surrounded by his children and others that loved him. Kent was born to Bruce and Vida Brower in Heyburn, Idaho where he spent his growing-up years.

From an early age, Kent was a competitor, athlete, and sports fan – always enjoying a good game whether it be basketball, football, or baseball.
The decision to serve an LDS mission (the Uruguayan Mission) was a life changing event that he cherished for his entire life.  Upon returning from his mission, he met and fell in love with his dear wife Ruth Ann Dayley. They were married in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple on May 26, 1966 and shared 54 wonderful years together before her passing.

After graduation from Brigham Young University (BS Entomology and Parasitology), Kent’s gregarious and congenial personality led him to a successful sales career, mostly in animal health. Various early career assignments moved his family from east cost to west coast, but Kent always considered himself an Idaho boy. He and Ruth eventually raised their four children in Boise, Idaho.

Kent was a loyal disciple of Jesus Christ. He lived his discipleship and covenant-centered life as a supportive, compassionate, and empathetic husband, parent, and servant of the Savior. His consistent and unwavering testimony in God was gained by his spiritual grit and personal effort. Those who knew him, knew Kent’s caring and sincere heart. He had a genuine interest in others and his generosity was only rivaled by his blue eyes.

Kent is preceded in death by his eternal companion, Ruth Ann. He is survived by four children Rachelle Chester, Nannette (Mark) Anderson, Ryan (Laura) Brower, Aleisha (Bill) Jensen, thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, as well as siblings OraGay Zillner and Arlene Rosa.

Our family deeply appreciates the loving care that Kent received at The Ashford Assisted Living and Memory Care in Springville, Utah.
