Kenneth E. Weidner was born in Akron, OH on September 11, 1923. A principled and devoted Christian man, full of grace, great dad, grandpa and friend. Kenneth passed away on a Friday afternoon February 3, 2017. He was 93. Ken was an only child born to George and Eva Weidner.

He is survived by his four children, Scott, Carol, Doug and Keith; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Ken was a Purdue graduate and also served in the army during World War II. His experience in the Army molded his career that eventually led him to his work at Sandia National Labs where he met his wife to be, Miriam. They were married for 62 years until her passing in 2012. Ken retired from Sandia National Labs in 1985.

He was a poet at heart and loved reciting poetry to his wife, Miriam. Ken and Miriam devoted their lives to God and family. He enjoyed sports and loved to play baseball and fast-pitch softball. He bowled in a league for many years but fly fishing a beaver pond was probably his favorite. Ken served at his church, First Spanish Fruit Avenue Baptist, as a long time treasurer and deacon. He loved being a Sunday school teacher until shortly before his passing. He was a most loving, patient and brilliant man. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
