Kenneth Trujillo, age 76, beloved father, grandfather, and husband, was called to his eternal resting place on Friday, September 23, 2022. He entered this world on Sunday, September 25, 1945, in Oakland, CA, born to Jose and Philomena Trujillo. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons, Esteban and wife Natasha, Carlos, and wife Micaela; daughter, Venise; and five grandchildren, Diego, Maya, Pablo, Mila and Luciana. Kenneth was devoted to his wife, Virginia, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in March of this year.

Kenneth was raised in El Rito and Los Alamos, New Mexico. Upon graduating from Los Alamos High School, he attended the University of New Mexico. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he answered his nation’s call and entered the US Army. He chose to serve as an infantry officer in the 101st Airborne Division and was at Firebase Ripcord during the Vietnam war. The Bronze Star is among the awards he earned during his time in service.

After returning from Vietnam, he worked as an English teacher in Las Vegas, NM and pursued his master’s degree at Highlands University. It was during this time he met Virginia who was also pursuing her master’s degree at Highlands. With his education complete he became a high school counselor in Las Vegas.

Kenneth and Virginia married in March of 1972 and started a family shortly thereafter. To better support his growing family Kenneth joined the New Mexico Army National Guard full time. He retired having reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retiring, he continued his working career as a vocational counselor for the State of New Mexico.

The family extends an open invitation to attend his Rosary on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121.
