Ken was born in Austin, PA on February 7, 1936. He was the fourth child of six siblings, although his family did foster many children. In 1954, Ken graduated one year early from Eldred High School in his hometown where he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After finishing basic training he went on to become a jet mechanic. In 1957 he came back to Pennsylvania to marry his high school sweetheart, Gloria Ann. During their marriage they had four children. His fondest memories of his time in the service were flying in aircraft as the “Flying Crew Chief” mechanic. He proudly served his country for 23 years before retiring in 1977 as a Technical Sergeant at his last duty station, Malmstrom Air Force Base. Ken was the type of person who did not slow down after his military career. Shortly after, he moved on to manage Chuck’s Exxon gas station in Great Falls, MT. Many patrons who knew him there called him Toby. Ken managed the gas station until the station closed in 1997. Then, Ken was hired at the stock warehouse for Walmart. He took up the position as night stock clerk for 10 years before health problems forced him into retirement. During his lifetime Ken was very active in his grandchildren lives. He devoted his spare time to be an umpire for little league, driver for out of town games, a cheer section, concession worker, or just Team Grandpa. He shall be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ken passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2015 at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife Gloria Ann Tyler and their four children, Kenneth Tyler Jr. (Michelle), Marty Tyler, Kathy Reilly, and Tamara Turner (Robert). Ken has 11 grandchildren Cory Emerson, Mindy Schwickerath (Nicholas), Alyshia Roberson, Melissa Foley (Lance), Clifford Reilly (Meghan), Steevi Turner, KarLee Turner, John Reilly (Whitney), Mariah Tyler, Cody Tyler, and Logan Tyler. Ken  has 9 great grandchildren with 1 more due around his birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents Twila & Lee Tyler Sr, two sisters, one brother, and two grandchildren.
