Kenneth P. Skorik, 78, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on December 20, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center, Marshfield, Wisconsin.

He was born on September 8, 1943, in West Allis, Wisconsin to Emil and Betty (Biscoe) Skorik.  Ken graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1961. He was united in marriage to Judy Ann Lucas on May 29, 1965 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  He spent his 22-year working career as a dryer operator at Kerry Ingredients.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964.

Ken and Judy were each other’s soulmates. After meeting at Sun Valley Custard Stand where Judy was a carhop, they became inseparable.  He was the love of Judy’s life and the sparkle in his daughter’s (Kim, Tammy, Shelly, and Tina) eyes.  His infectious smile and laugh made it impossible to not love him.  Ken was adored by his brothers and sisters. Family was everything to him.  Ken was the type of husband and father that put most men to shame.  His love for his family was undeniable and impossible to miss.  He took great delight being a grandfather to his wonderful grandchildren. He was so proud of being a foster parent in his earlier years.  He loved helping children and helping them get back to their families.  It must be said that Ken was also the BEST professional Santa to grace the Christmas holiday.

Ken was an avid Packer fan and was lucky enough to see them win the evening prior to his death.  His dream was to move to Florida with his wife.

Ken’s first love was Jesus Christ.  He served as a deacon at Evergreen Assembly of God for 10 years and for several years helped with the youth group ministry. Ken also served as an elder of the church at Rapids Assembly. Ken lead a support group called “Grief Share” at CLF with his wife, Judy and helped out as an usher at the church. He loved God with all his heart, soul, and mind. In his final hours, Ken spoke of his wish to go home and be with the Lord.

He is survived by wife, Judy Skorik; mother-in-law, Alice Lucas; daughters: Shelly (Jerry) Kruse, Tina Skorik (Martin Berg), and Kim (Rick) Dix; son-in-law Robert Billman; brothers: Emil Jr. (Sheryl) Skorik, and Greg (Merry) Skorik; sister: Kathy (Ron) Lewandowski; sisters-in-law: Pauline Skorik, Carol Skorik, and Toni Cornwell; grandchildren: Kayla Blackhall, Shawn Stevens, Andrew Roland, Alycia Kromanaker, Adam Billman, Shane Kruse, Samantha Kruse, and Jordan Berg; great-grandchildren: Blayke Billman, Olyver Billman, Abygail Kromanaker, Carson Kromanaker, Crew Kromanaker, and Mila Blackhall; and special friends Marv and Deb Kindle.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Tammy Billman; brothers: Ronald Skorik and Russel Skorik; granddaughter Ashley Billman; father-in-law George Lucas; sister-in-law Joni Chapman; brother-in-law Tom Lucas; nephew Chris Sparby and his great grandparents.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Marshfield Medical Center for the excellent care they provided for Ken and empathy and support during his last hours.
