Ken Zentz, 64, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away on August 25, 2015, at 4 a.m. at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center from declining health the past few months. He was born in Lapaz, Indiana to Marjorie Emma (Wiegan) Zentz and Donald H. Zentz on September 16, 1950. Mr. Zentz was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
Ken is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Traci Lynn (Shaun) Derda, who reside in South Bend, Indiana, a son, Shane Patrick Zentz who resides in Pensacola, FL, a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon Sue (Guy) Bushnell in Mason, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren, Carli, Derek and Dylan Derda of South Bend, Indiana. Ken was also survived by a former spouse and friend, Ann Rogers Weathers (Zentz). Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two brothers, Donald G. Zentz and Terry L. Zentz.
Mr. Zentz spent many years in the second-stage manufacturing of conversion vans/SUVs in the Midwest having moved to the Valley in the summer of 1998 as President/CEO/part owner of Advantage West Corporation. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Custom Craft Vehicles in Milwaukee, WI. Earlier to this, he was involved in this same industry for many years in Elkhart, Indiana having been in marketing/sales and having owned and operated conversion van companies. After moving to Arizona, Ken also became a licensed realtor and practiced mainly in Fountain Hills/Scottsdale, AZ. He was associated with Dominion Real Estate Partners for the past 14 years having been Branch Manager/Group Leader of the Fountain Hills Group at the time of his death.
