Kenneth L. Thruman, 75, died Sunday March 7, 2004 at Alden Nelson Subacute Complex in Rockford.
Born September 11, 1928 in Freeport he was the son of Robert and Alice (Shay) Thruman. On November 10, 1978 he married Gladys Tryan in Freeport. He worked for Northern Illinois Gas Company retiring in 1988. After retiring he and his wife ran a day care for children out of their home.
Surviving is his wife Gladys, three daughters, Diane (Jeff) York of Freeport, Darlene (David) Smithers of Cedarville and Brandie (Troy) Schleich of Freeport. Two sons, Darryl (Christina) Bell of Forreston and Dale (fiancé, Kris Berry) Bell of Monroe. One sister Phyllis Loring of Rockford. Six brothers, Robert (Mary) Thruman Jr. of Freeport, Donald (Jan) Thruman of Freeport, Richard (Sandra) Thruman of Presque Isle, Wis. James Thruman of Freeport, Glen (Nelda) Thruman of Freeport and Frank (Marie) Thruman of Queen Creek, AZ. Nine grandchildren, Tim Arrington of Rockford, Carrie Clark of West Virginia, Jamie Bell, Charity Schneider, Jackie Bass, Drake Dotson, Chase York, Kaden Schleich, and Olivia Davis all of Freeport, 3 step grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Special Aunt Anne Foy of Freeport and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Cremation rites were accorded.
