Kenneth “Kenny” or “Ishtah” Logan, 79, of Moberly, died Thursday, July 6, 2017. Kenneth was born January 16, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to James R. and Rosa Bea (Collins) Logan.
Kenny came to Moberly at a young age and attended Lincoln School where he graduated. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for seven years; receiving an honorable discharge. Prior to retirement, he worked as a welder at Mack Pro. He had previously worked as a car refinisher for Noll Motors, Whitehead Garage, and A.B. Kelly Motors.
His passion was playing his congas. HE loved playing with Chump Change Band and with his good friend Morgan Matsiga. Ish had a passion for music, especially Reggae and Latina. One of his favorites is Pancho Sanchez.
Kenny is survived by his children, Debra Tucker and husband Lewis of Columbia, MO, Darcel Lang and husband Smiley of Camarillo, CA, Dmitri Logan and wife Brenda of St. Joseph, MO, Lisa Brown and husband Alphonso of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Anthony Tucker, Tony “Wan” Jacobs Donyell Jacobs, Aaron Holman, Cawon Midgyett, Dmitri Ward, Asaad Brown, Lindsey Logan, and Tre’von Logan; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; siblings Brenda Oliver and husband Roosevelt, Jo Francis Collymore, and Marcus Logan; step-sister Virginia Wilson; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He has joined in the eternal life an infant daughter Kayla Ann Logan; sons, Victor Logan and Kenny Hayes; his parents; a grandson Marlin Logan; stepfather Howard Smith Sr., and stepbrother Howard Smith, Jr.
Kenny loved life, and being around people, and enjoyed hanging out at Felicia’s. He often spoke of good friends Mitchell and Matt French and Ruth Logan and how they always included him in their family gatherings. He also spoke of his good friend Troy Smith and appreciated the needed assistance he received from him.
