Kenneth E. Henrics, 89, of Columbus, New Mexico passed away May 4, 2012 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming.

He was born July 18, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William Joseph Henrics and Eleonora Stoll.He graduated from high school and entered Marquette University and studied 1 1/4 years before being drafted into the U.S. Army. He was placed in the 101st Air Bourne Signal Company Screaming Eagles. He trained in England and on D Day made his first battle jump in Normandy.

He was in the Battle of the Bulge and awarded the Belgium “ Fourragere” for his participation. He was one of many saved by General George Patton in the Battle of Bastogne. He served our country from 1942-1946.After WWII, he returned to Marquette University, graduating as a Civil Engineer. He retired from the State of Wisconsin in1985. Kenneth and Bette were married on June 16, 1973 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later moved to Columbus N.M. where they had been living for 21 years. Both were members of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and Kenneth was a member of Tony Viramontes Deming Chapter 2 Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Bette of the home; four children Mary, Judy, Keith and Kevin; sister, Patricia also seven grandchildren, Mark, Brian, Karolyne, David, Judy, Kyle and Cole and three great-grandchildren Natilie, Ryon, and Bailey.
