Kenneth H. Stannard , 77
Brunswick Kenneth H. Stannard , 77 ,of Town Office Road Brunswick, active Mason and Shriner, died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Aubrey Stannard and Lela (Hayner) Stannard and husband for 57 years of Eleanor Booth Stannard.
He had resided in Brunswick all his life and attended Troy High School.
Mr. Stannard was a lifetime member of Local #370 Carpenters & Joiners of America and was employed for many years by the Wade Lupe Construction Co, as field superintendent, working on many construction sites throughout the Capital District and surrounding areas, retiring in 1990.
Active in Masonic and Shriner circles, Ken was a Past Potentate in 1990 of Oriental Shrine #7, Troy, and officer and member of the Troy Shrine Patrol and Oriental Shrine Patrol; a Past master of Phoenix- Jerusalem Lodge #58 F & AM, Lansingburgh where he received the dedicated service award. A Past high priest of Phoenix Chapter # 133 RAM; Past Illustrious Master Bloss Council #14; Past Eminent Commander Apollo Commandery # 15 KT; Grand Rep. of Colorado to Grand Commandery of NYS; a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valleys of Troy and Albany; Albany Conclave Red Cross of Constantine; Past director of Troy Court #122, Royal Order of Jesters and Patron of Palestine Star, Order of the Eastern Star. He was instrumental in the construction and maintenance of the Lansingburgh masonic temple next to the John P. Buckley Water Treatment Plant. Ken was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy from 1945-1946 and a member of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Carol Stannard; two sons, John Stannard (Emerita) and Jeff Stannard (Debbie); four grandchildren, Tina Drescher and Todd, Krista and Katie Stannard; three great grandchildren, Samantha, Elizabeth and Allen Drescher and a sister, Evelyn Casterlin.
