STAHL, Kenneth G. “Pappy” Passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born on April 7, 1934 in Kalamazoo, MI a son of George and Lyda (Nakken) Stahl and had been a lifelong area resident. Ken served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lois and a brother, Ivan. On August 8, 1958 Ken married the former Paula Siemsen, who survives.

Also surviving are five children and their spouses, Kenneth & Jean Stahl of St. Charles, MI, Brenda & Ron Eshuis of Cooper, Douglas & Elizabeth Stahl of Vicksburg, Holly & Bill Cote of Perrysburg, OH and Katrina & Don Zeilenga of Kalamazoo; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Ken lived his life by the standard of Proverbs 22:6, “Raise up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Ken was devoted to his family, a loving husband, father and grandfather. Pappy worked hard all of his life to provide for his family. Things didn’t always come easy, but that did not stop him from making sure the family was secure in a good Christian home. His faith in God stayed with him throughout his life, and stood as a shining example for everyone he met.

Kenneth enjoyed music. For years he participated in a gospel quartet called “The Volunteers”. He passed this joy to his children and grandchildren. As he grew older, he took great pleasure in listening to family members make their own music.

Ken was an avid woodworker. He never let a usable piece of material get thrown away, “I might be able to build something out of it”. He enjoyed his time in Florida, the friends he had made, sitting and watching the sunset over the lake. His smiling face will be sorely missed. Knowing he has joined his family that has gone before him in eternal glory in their eternal home. Singing.
