KENNETH FRANCIS DONNELLY, 83, of Toms River, New Jersey, died peacefully in his sleep this past Thursday, November 29, 2012. KENNETH (“KEN”) was born on Staten Island, New York to MICHAEL FRANCIS (“FRANK”)and LILLIAN DONNELLY.
He graduated from Port Richmond High School and attended the American Institute of Banking and the University of Wisconsin School for Business Administration. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, THERESA R. DONNELLY. KEN retired from the Bank of New York as Vice President after 38 years of service. He served in the United States Army in 1951 and 1952 earning the rank of Corporal. He was awarded five medals including the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars. KEN’S hobbies included boating as a member of the Gilford Park Yacht Club, golf, and gardening. He was also an avid bowler. KEN and his wife, TERRY traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Carribean, and the United States. KEN was a member of St. Justin’s Roman Catholic Church, of Toms River, and Blessed Sacrament Church of Staten Island where he resided until 1996. KEN is survived by three children: MARY ELIZABETH DONNELLY-ROSE, of Toms River, New Jersey, married to DAVID A. ROSE; MICHAEL HENRY DONNELLY, of Larchmont, New York; and JAMES PATRICK DONNELLY, of Staten Island, New York.
He also is survived by six grandchildren: SHANNON ELIZABETH ROSE, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; JESSIE ROSE MASTRO, of Avon, North Carolina, married to JAI MASTRO; KERRY ELIZABETH DONNELLY, of Washington D.C.; MOLLY JEAN ROSE, of Toms River, New Jersey; GREGORY JAMES ROSE, of Toms River, New Jersey; and LILLYANNE THERESA DONNELLY, of Larchmont, New York. KEN was predeceased by his only sibling, GEORGE DONNELLY, in June 2012.
