Kenneth “Ken” F. Gouker, 74, of Elkhart, died Monday (June 29, 2009) in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born July 7, 1934, in Elkhart to Vern and Ida Saxon (Johnston) Gouker. On Oct. 19, 1979, he married Patricia “Pat” Glace in Elkhart.

She survives along with one daughter, Rebecca Gouker of Elhart; three sons, Steve and Tim Gouker, both of Elkhart, and Mark Gouker of Colorado; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Donna (Tom) Kauffman of Middlebury; and his former wife, Marilyn Gouker of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Allen “Bud” Gouker.

Mr. Gouker graduated in 1952 from Concord High School and worked as a repairman at Personett’s Bicycle Shop, a plant manager at Gillette Generators and at Patricia’s Emporium for 24 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an aviation enthusiast.

He enjoyed being with his family, riding his scooter, restoring vintage automobiles, photography, history, woodworking, civic events and festivals. He attended Crossroads Community Church and was a licensed Nazarene minister.

Mr. Gouker rehabilitated over 100 squirrels.
