Kenneth E. Burkholder, CMSgt (Ret) was born on July 22, 1927, at Fort Madison, Iowa to Elmer and Dagmar Burkholder and died on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
He attended Chillicothe Illinois High School and enlisted in the Navy during World War II (1944). He then enlisted in the Air Force in 1948 and served in Korea (1951-1952). He also served in at U-Tapao, Thailand during the Vietnam conflict (1967-1968). Kenneth was discharged from the Air Force in 1977 and made his home in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Kenneth leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Rita, one son: Wayne (Honey) and family of Fort Walton Beach, FL, as well as three brothers: Jack (Sandy) of Virginia, Keith (Effie) and Wayne A. of Illinois, also three sisters: Phyllis (Don), Joan (Jake) of Illinois, and Dorothy (George) of Arizona, and his brother-in-law, Trevor Hickson (Elizabeth), many nieces and nephews in England.
Since retirement, Kenneth has enjoyed camping and sail boating with his friends and companions.
