WILLSON, Kenneth E. of Kalamazoo. Passed away October 7, 2010 at his home. He was born August 21, 1924 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio to the late Ernest and Edna Bammerlin Willson. Ken was united in marriage on June 24, 1950 to Barbara Gelow, who preceded him in death in 2000. He then was united in marriage to Lillian Pettigrew on September 13, 2001, who survives.
Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII until honorably discharged. Ken worked as a college food catering specialist for Saga Food Service. His great joy in life centered around family and friends. He particularly loved sports, both as a golfer, professional baseball player and avid fan. Ken was known for his great sense of humor.
Also surviving Ken are his children, Amy Steven VanderPoel of Rowlett, TX and Jeffery Carol Willson of Kalamazoo;3 grandchildren, Nathan Sheva VanderPoel, Luke Brooke VanderPoel and Drew Willson; 3 great grandchildren, Shashana, Mia and Cole; sister, Audrey Cummings; 2 stepchildren, John Chris and Patrick Corrie Enright; and step grandson, Tristan.
