Kenneth E Smith III, 39, of Three Oaks, Michigan died at home March 31, 2009 as a result of a house fire.Ken was born December 4, 1969 in Flint, Michigan to Kenneth E. and Diane (Hawley) Smith Jr. He graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1989 and continued his education by attending Lee College. On November 14, 2006, he married Brenda Johnson in Michigan City, Indiana.
Ken owned K-3 Painting in Three Oaks. He enjoyed being around his friends, cooking, debating, barbecuing in his back yard, hunting, singing karaoke and playing pool with his best friend, Adam Palus. Ken loved his children and playing with his son and girls.Survivors include his wife, Brenda; children, Kayla Ashley Smith (18) of Merriville, Indiana; Austin Tyler Smith(13); Hailey Marie Smith(4) and Kendra Noel Smith (2) all of Three Oaks; mother, Diane of Merriville, Indiana; father, Kenneth (Jerri) of LaPorte, Indiana; sister, Katrina (Martin) Dzuris of New Buffalo, Michigan; and brother-in-law, Bill (Ginger) Johnson of Benton Harbor; grandmother, Agatha L. Smith of Grand Rapids, Michigan and grandparents, Lawrence A. and Ileen Hawley of Clio, Michigan .
