Kenneth D. “Kenny” Gratner, age 60, of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his residence.
The son of George and Elizabeth (Sands) Gratner, he was born on March 23, 1960 in Rensselaer, Ind. Kenny graduated from Rensselaer Central High School as a member of the Class of 1978. He worked at Genova Plastics for over twenty years. He also enjoyed his career as a self-employed farmer. Kenny had a love of Allis-Chalmers tractors and raising his Berkshire hogs. Having a green-thumb, Kenny planted and cared for all types and species of flowers. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer and a former member of the Mount Ayr United Methodist Church.
Kenny is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, including Wayne and Sandy Gratner, Carol and David Spurgeon, Mary Standish, and Robert and Peggy Gratner, along with his sister, Marsha Gratner. He was preceded in death by his father, George.
