Kendall W. Drake, 71, of Algona passed away peacefully Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Algona Manor. Kendall William Drake was born on August 25, 1943 to Lester and Esther Drake. He attended school at Buffalo Center, Iowa, graduating in 1961. He attended Oak Hills Bible Institute, Bemidji, Mn where he met his bride, Eleanor Jean Meredith. They were married May 30, 1964. They lived in Bemidji for a short time before moving to Iowa. To this union, 5 children were born, David, Deb, Eve, Miriam and Paul. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 12. He was baptized in Clear Lake. He served his Lord faithfully as a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He worked at Jack’s Ok for 36 years. Most recently, he could be seen walking the courthouse square.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eleanor Jean, his five children, David (Debbi) Drake, Neenah, Wisconsin, Deb (Keith) Eden, Woden, Iowa, Eve (Timothy) Lawson, Des Moines, Iowa, Miriam (Craig) Cantrall, Spencer, Iowa, Paul (Jodi) Drake, Woodward, Iowa; his fifteen grandchildren, Kaella (Tom) Wilson, Kolton and Kelley Drake; Kyle, Tristen, Levi and Chance Eden; Andrew Lawson; Cameron, Caleb, Cole and Collin Cantrall; and Emma, Paden and Chandler Drake; and one great-granddaughter, Erinne Wilson. He is also survived by his siblings, Muriel (Roger) Anderson, Plymouth, MN, Elsie (Billy) Smith, Buffalo Center, Iowa, and Leslie (Daphney) Drake, Virginia. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lester and Esther Drake; his siblings, Margaret Briscoe, Charles Drake, Leona Breevaart, and Howard Drake, and one granddaughter, Celeste Cantrall.
