Master Chief Kelly Dean Joyce, US Navy Retired, 65, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his home in Sharpsburg, GA surrounded by his family. He was born November 28, 1948 in Edgewater, KY to the late John Rufus Joyce & Ruby Eleanor Carty Joyce. Kelly grew up in Streetsboro, OH and after graduation from high school he enlisted in the Navy. He served 22 years and retired as a Master Chief. After retirement he worked for several steel mills and later as head of maintenance for a nursing home in Peoria, IL. He and his wife moved to Sharpsburg, GA three years ago. Mr. Joyce was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include wife, Debbie Morris Joyce; children, Kelley Bush & husband Chris of Sharpsburg, Dena Snavely & husband Sam of Lakeview, OH, Christen Ward & husband Dave of Lima, OH, Kevin Joyce & wife Brandy of Lima, OH; sister, Mary Ann Sellers of Sharpsburg; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
