Keith Nichols, the son of Ben and Elisa (Swenscoe) Nichols and a stepfather, Hobert Nichols, he was born October 12, 1929 in Williamson. He graduated from Lovilia High School in 1947. He married Jean Clipperton February 19, 1949 in Lovilia.
A former resident of Lovilia, he moved to Newton in 1955. Mr. Nichols was employed as a supervisor by the Maytag Company for 41 years before retiring in 1989. He was recently employed as a part-time groundskeeper at Westwood Golf Course in Newton and was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1270 and Moose Lodge No. 923.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Debra and Gene Knopf of Newton; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.
