Keith Kay Elkins Sr., 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away July 6, 2016 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 5, 1934, to Ralph Elkins and Harriett (Bryant) Elkins. Keith retired as a maintenance mechanic for Alcan, where he worked for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, where he could catfish on the Wabash River, and garden in his yard, especially tomatoes. He was an avid Bobby Knight Indiana University basketball fan. Keith also was a member of the Senior Bowling League at Vigo Bowl. In Keith’s passing, he is survived by his wife of almost 60 years JoAnn (Preisler) Elkins; children Kimberly Haas (Daniel), Lisa Elkins (Roger Miller), and Keith Kay Elkins Jr. (Diana Prouse); grandchildren Joseph Miller, Danielle Elkins, Alexandra Cavilla (Simon), and Nicholas Haas; great grandchildren Scottie Medley, Ava Medley, and Jayce Elkins; sister Linda Michaels; sister-in-law Mary Elkins; several nieces and nephews; and special honorary sister Monica McDonald, whom helped take care of Keith during his illness. The family would like to thank her for her love and compassion. Keith was preceded in death by his grandson Keith Kay Elkins III; siblings Joretta Price and Albert Vaughn Elkins.
