Keith E. Seymour, 84, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born December 23, 1923, south of Franklin, the son of Dwight E. and Georgia L. Lashmet Seymour. He married Alberta Hettick on May 24, 1947, in Jacksonville, and she survives.
He is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Norma Duncan of Carbondale, and Bette (Harold Lloyd) Clarkson and Fred L. Seymour, both of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Charles W. Seymour (surviving wife Edema of San Bernardino, CA.), H. Dean Seymour (surviving wife Ruth of Alton), H. Gene Seymour and Catherine Lawshe.
Mr. Seymour worked for the Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 1980. He then worked part-time for Casler, Houser and Hutchison until 1988. He was a member of Central Christian Church, and a life member of Amvets, the V.F.W. and American Legion. He was also a member of Harmony Lodge #3 A.F. & A.M. and the Springfield Shrine Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
