Keith Aston Curtin’s strong will and faith in God kept him until he peacefully passed into glory to join the Lord, his parents, and his brothers and sisters on Wednesday, February 9, 2022; three months shy of his 95th birthday.

Keith was born on May 31st, 1927, the last of eight siblings, to Pearl and Eustace Curtin in Mandeville, Jamaica. Keith attended Mayday School and later married Avis Gunter in 1952, settling in Mandeville, where the couple had four children, one of whom predeceased him. To support his family, Keith owned a grocery store in addition to running a small trucking business. In the early 1970’s, Keith and Avis migrated to New York with their children joining them shortly. They made their home in Queens, NY where he worked as a carpenter, joining the local union. Early retirement in 1989 brought the couple to Kissimmee, FL.

Never one to sit around, bursting with energy, he was always improving his home, planting and tending his fruit trees, even continuing to cut his lawn at the age of 92. A stickler for being on time and an avid fan of horse racing and boxing. Keith loved a good home cooked meal; not one for sweets, but a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream would not be refused.

Keith is survived by his wife of 69 years, Avis; children Barry (Joy) Curtin, Heather Curtin, and Carol (Stuart) Curtin-Lopez; grandchildren Alex and Karey Curtin; and numerous nieces and nephews who all love him dearly.
