LAKELAND – Kathy Kim Tomlinson Whidden, 56, went home to her final resting place on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure.
Kim was born at Ft. Gordon, Georgia, on January 22, 1957, the third of seven children. She traveled with her parents and siblings to several Army assignments during her childhood and moved to Lakeland with her family in 1971. She graduated from Kathleen Senior High School in Lakeland in 1975 and was employed at Goodwill Industries for several years after graduation. She then became a stay-at-home wife.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Ennis Tomlinson; and twin sisters. She is survived by her long-time companion, Ken Rucker of Lakeland; her mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Tomlinson of Lakeland; two sisters, Penny Elaine Tomlinson Green and Cindy Eileen Tomlinson Lee (Jack) both of Lakeland; two brothers, Mark Ennis Tomlinson and Robert “Bob” Kenneth Tomlinson (Kim), both of Lakeland; one nephew, three nieces, and two great-nephews.
