WWII Veteran

Kathryn (Kay) J. Wolfe, 87, of Alamogordo, left this world peacefully on November 13, 2007, surrounded by her family. Kathryn was born in Casselton, ND, on July 19, 1920 to John & Bernice (Gill) Sinner. After high school, Kathryn attended St. John’s Nursing School in Fargo, ND. She served in the Army Nurse Corps as a Lieutenant from 1943 to 1946. She continued in nursing at Fort Logan Veteran’s Hospital in Colorado, where she met her husband Charles M. Wolfe as a patient, they married in 1949. After 53 years of marriage he passed in July of 2002.

Kathryn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and volunteer. For forty years, she spent her summers at the family cabin.

Survivors include, six children, Susie Anderson, Kathryn (Eugene) Cecava, Mary Prosoco and Tim (Terry) Wolfe all of Alamogordo, James (Lisa) Wolfe of Salt Lake City, UT and Monica Fisk of Ruidoso; 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brother, Dan Sinner of West Fargo, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by, her husband, brother Jack, sister Phyllis and grandson, Matthew Prosoco.
