Kathryn King Chasteen, 86, died on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) after an extended illness. She was born December 2, 1924 to the late Dewitt T. & Amanda McMullen in Perry, Florida but had lived here in Lake City since 1943. Kathryn was an excellent cook and was world renowned for her banana pudding, which was always eaten first at family reunions.
