Palmyra: Passed away unexpectedly, and peacefully, on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Kathleen was born in Ashington, Northumberland, England on February 2, 1928 to the late Margaret “Gray” and John McGrath. Mom was also predeceased by her husband, our dad, Samuel A. Smyth on September 9, 1978, her sister, Mary; brother, Jim; and mom is reunited with her beloved granddaughter Lesley who passed away in 2013. Mom is survived by her children, stepson, Michael (Chris), Kevin (Melinda) Brian (Pam), Tim (Debbie), Sean (Jill), Dennis (Stephanie), Kammy (Bob) and Pat (Jenifer); loving grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen, Marge and Pat; brother, John (Arlene); her Canandaigua Street neighbor and dear friend, Mrs. Sue Rigney, as well as a host of people who adopted her as “Nan”.
