Kathleen Anne Lent Siegenthaler 72, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Halifax Hospice Center, in Orange City, Florida. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, R. Edward, her children Joan Marie (Chris Griffy) of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Lisa Anne (Felix Urena) of Orlando, Florida, and Jon Edward (Tatiana) of Belize, Mother Helen Lent of Celebration, FL, 3 grandchildren (Noah, Jonah, Zoey), a Niece (Melissa) and a nephew (John).

Kathy was born to Helen and William Jr. Lent in 1949 in Syracuse NY.
Kathy interests included learning and demonstrating the art of folk dancing at the Syracuse University Folk Dance Group. With an emphasis on Eastern Europe. She was an accomplished downhill snow skier and taught others how to ski.
She had a degree and worked for Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, New York in the Cytology and Chemical Laboratory department. She spent 30 years as an educator, teaching Home Economics, Science and Health in New York and Florida. She became a National Board Certified Teacher and trainer. Kathy retired from full time teaching in 2011 but continued as a substitute for Bellagio Academy in Osceola County to be closer to her grandsons. Students could always be found in Mrs. Siegenthaler’s classroom long after class was over talking to her and asking questions.

Kathy showed her love through cooking. She never stopped creating recipes and could read a recipe and tell if it was a good one. Kathy had a very kind heart and found ways to take care of those in need. This took many forms, but her passion was to guide the children and teens she taught to a more inclusive environment. She will be forever missed by those who knew her.
