Kathleen “KiKi” Brady Sweeney, 65, passed peacefully in her sleep and made her transition into the next life at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 17th , 2015. She was surrounded in her last months by her loving husband Bart Sweeney; her daughters, Colleen Michelle Sweeney and Emily Sweeney Basque; her grandchildren, Simon Emory Basque and Lillian Mae Basque; her brothers; her sister and her many amazing friends all who cared for her with love and compassion throughout the end of her life’s journey. Kiki was born in Owatonna, Minnesota on May 16, 1950. She was raised on the family Farm in Deerfield Minnesota and was the 3rd child of Evelyn Maris and James Melvin Brady and is survived by her sister Carolyn Brady Hoffman, and brothers Patrick Brady, Dennis Brady, James Brady, their spouses and her many nephews and nieces. Cheerleader, Majorette and baton twirler extraordinaire KiKi graduated from Medford MN. High School in 1968. Her sense of style and fashion drew her to Minneapolis where studied graphic design & Art History and graduated with a degree from the University of Minnesota. She worked in advertising at several national Mpls based retailers before starting her own design firm and eventually her own art studio where she would focus on her painting. Her love of art and the French culture drew her to live in France for a year where she became fluent in French and soaked up the local culture. Upon her return to Minneapolis she met the love of her life F.B. “Bart” Sweeney and several years later married on July 27, 1991. They lived happily in Edina, Minnesota raising their daughters Emily & Colleen. In 2003 KiKi and Bart moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where they could enjoy the warm weather, golf and the energy of the desert climate. KiKi’s amazing art work continued in strong desert colors at her own art studio and was a member of the Sonoran Arts League. Throughout their marriage KiKi and Bart traveled the world. They also spent many happy, loving years at home, golfing, hiking, spending time together. She doted on her children, grandchildren & loveable dog Frankie. Through the end of her earth life KiKi’s love for others and inner beauty continued to shine from within. Bart, her children, friends and family stayed with her every day, all devoted to caring for her in the comfort of her own home during her last will miss your bright happy face and your warm & vibrant personality. And until you and I meet again … may God hold you in the Palm of His Hand.
