Kathleen “Kay” Hayes Skelskey, 87, wife of Joseph Skelskey of Bristol, passed away on Thursday October 22, 2009.

Kathleen was born on July 25, 1922 in Queens, New York a daughter of the late William and Erma (Bethke) McGrath.

For many years Kay worked at Bristol Hospital as a surgical nurse, from there she went to work with her first husband, George, as the secretary at St.

Before becoming a very active member and lector at St.

Mrs. Skelskey had a fine sense of humor, loved to dance and was much loved.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Margaret and James DeMaria of Bristol, and Eileen and Michael Adams of Bristol; her stepson and his wife, Robert and Patricia Skelskey of Bristol; her two stepdaughters and their husbands, Lynn and Howard Tarnoff of Madison, WI and Lorna and Larry Farmer of Pottersville, NJ; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including two special nephews, Thomas and James Moylan and her special friend Barbara Cafora.

She was predeceased by her first husband George T. Hayes and her three brothers, Jack, William and David McGrath
