Kathleen G. Troester passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 1,
2006.
Kathleen was born on July 10, 1939 in South Bend, IN to George and Jane (OSullivan) Grummell.
On October 16, 1965, Kathleen married Dennis F. Troester at Sacred Heart Basilica, Notre Dame.
She is survived by Dennis, along with their son Brian (Victoria) of Granger, IN; daughters Maureen (Christopher) Hurst of Chesterton, IN and Tricia (Martin) Collins of Munster, IN; grandchildren Chazz Troester, Isabella Troester, Brock Hurst, Aidan Hurst, Ingrid Hurst, Mikayla Collins and Michael Collins. Also surviving are a sister, Nancy Geary (William) of Wilmette, IL and a brother, Richard Grummell (Bonnie) of Pensacola, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Jane Grummell and her brother G. Gregory Grummell.
Kathleen graduated from the former St. Marys Academy, South Bend. In 1961, she graduated from Fontbonne University, St. Louis, MO. After starting graduate work at Washington University (MO), Kathleen received her Masters in Education from Indiana University South Bend. She taught first grade for many years at Kennedy School in the South Bend School Corporation.
Kathleen was a member of The Junior League of South Bend and The Christ Child Society of South Bend. She was also a member of Sacred Heart parish.
