Kathleen Denise Ingram, 65, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2021, after a courageous battle with uterine cancer.
She was born August 8, 1956, in Tippecanoe County to Jack and Vera Joan Kirkpatrick. Kathy was the middle child, with older sister Jacquie, and young brother Scott. She was a 1974 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. On June 7, 1980, Kathy married the man of her life, Mike Ingram, he survives.
She had her start in the work force working at The Union Club at Purdue University, but her passion and love was being an educator. Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Elementary Education from Purdue University. Following graduation, she was hired as a First Grade Teacher at Tri-County Primary School in Remington, where she worked for 42 years, until her cancer diagnosis.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she graciously donated her time and talents teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, “crafty ladies,” scrips, and “Jubilee Christmas,” and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed assisting with Youth Group Fundraisers, such as, garage sales, soup sales, and bread sales.
Along with her husband Mike, she is survived by 2 sons, Sean of West Lafayette and Joel (Bridget) of Indianapolis, her mother, Vera Joan Kirkpatrick; brother, Scott (Mary Kay) of Texas; brother-in-law, Randy Carson; 5 nephews; 2 nieces, and 2 great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack; and sister, Jacquie.
Following her service, Kathy will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 1200 Sagamore Parkway North, Lafayette, IN 47904.
